Opinel Facette cutlery knife set, 4 pcs, mix of colours

The Facette "bistro" knife set contains 4 elegant knives, packed in a blue cardboard case that is ideal for storage. The blades made of martensitic stainless steel 55-57 HC have excellent sharpness and abrasion resistance. Each of the knives has a different handle material and therefore a different colour. In the set you will find knives with handles made of olive wood, ash wood, stabilized ash wood and sustainable VittEr® material. All of the 4 types of knives listed can also be purchased in separate sets of 4. The Facette table knives are designed by BIG-GAME and are a combination of comfort, functionality and aesthetics.

The manufacturer recommends hand washing only for the long life of the knives with wooden handles. Hand washing is also recommended for stabilized wood, as waterproof as it is, you will extend its life if you keep it out of the dishwasher with abrasives. Only VittEr® material is suitable for carefree dishwasher washing.

- The combination of several styles will enliven any table
- Comfortable grip
- The 11 cm long stainless steel blade is highly resistant to corrosion
- Excellent cutting properties allow you to enjoy every last bite of food on your plate
- Hand washing recommended

Facette Collection
Each designer set of table knives with smooth stainless steel blades includes either 4 pieces with wooden handles, made from naturalor dark stabilised wood, or with a handle made of the new eco material VittEr®, also suitable for the dishwasher. The Facette collection also includes a set of 4 smooth-bladed table knives with handles in 4 colours, each in a different material(olive wood, light ash wood, black stabilised ash wood and VittEr® in white). New for 2023 is a set of 4 knives with a slate-coloured handle made of VittEr® with a micro serrated blade.
Thanks to the natural properties of the untreated wood, each of the knives with a wooden handle is a little original in terms of the handle. Knives with handles made from the ecological material VittEr® (paper pressed by a special process) have the advantage of being dishwasher safe. The precision 11 cm blades of these knives are made of treated MA5 stainless steel. This martensitic steel has a high degree of hardness and improved corrosion resistance. The blade hardness is 55-57 HRC. The blade offers excellent sharpness and high abrasion (wear) resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials such as ceramics without the need for re-sharpening. Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under normal conditions of use. The smooth blade can be resharpened if necessary.

Opinel - a design icon
The story of the now iconic Opinel brand begins in the 19th century, when the merchant Victor-Amédée Opinel learned to forge nails during his travels and subsequently set up his forge in France. After his death, his son Daniel took over the craft and became the "maker of sharp objects" for the local farmers, as the blades of his sickles and scythes were renowned far and wide as the sharpest possible. But the real Opinel - the closing pocket knife - would have to wait a little longer to be discovered. Daniel Opinel's eldest son, Joseph, decided to follow in his father's footsteps and, driven by an artistic passion...he combined hand craftsmanship with the most advanced technology of the day to create a small miracle. The year was 1890 and the Opinel pocket knife saw the light of day, a knife loved from day one and handed down from generation to generation. The knife, which over the following years won hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, became a staple in many households and a bit of a symbol of France...
Nowadays, the company not only produces legendary outdoor knives, but also has a sophisticated kitchen program, including forged kitchen knives; you can also buy stainless steel cutlery and steak knives from Opinel today.
